About Us

A place that has something for everyone, The Gytes Leisure Centre includes a gym, sports hall, an Astro Turf pitch, a soft play area, a meeting room and a vending café area. The centre also boasts new group exercise/dance studio and also an indoor cycling studio. A large number of activities are offered at the Gytes making excellent use of the wide range of facilities.

Activities

Regardless of age or ability there are many activities to suit everyone.

Body Conditioning
Focuses on conditioning and toning those stubborn areas of the body.

Step Class
An excellent class for an all over cardio and toning work out.

Tomohawk Cycling
All the action takes place on specially designed exercise bikes to give an unrivalled aerobic work out.

Boxercise

Circuit based class. Learn punching drill and techniques using punch bag, gloves and pads. An excellent class for both men and women.

Circuits

Combination of circuits, aerobics and boxercise. Move your way round a number of exercise stations and target every muscle group.

Aerobics

Choreography is varied with aerobic moves and all over body toning exercises.

Combat

Invigorating clas combining kicks, punches and blocks.

Senior Movers

Over 50's gentle exercise with music using swiss balls and mats - great class to keep it going.

If you are looking for a more relaxing activity there are also yoga, jive and pilates classes every week.

Sports Hall Facilities

Organised team sports for adults playing badminton, basketball, table tennis and football are popular at the Gytes. The facilities at the centre can be hired on a casual basis when required so whether you fancy trying out something a bit different or want to organise a regular activity with a group of friends, the staff at the Gytes can facilitate it all. The extensive sports hall (or even part of it) and the all weather pitch can also be hired.

Gym

The gym at the centre provides cardiovascular, resistance and free weight equipment so not matter what your goals are during a visit to the gym there is suitable equipment to help you achieve them. The trained staff are always on hand to give some helpful advice or motivation and they can design an individually tailored exercise programme to keep you on track. The gym can be used either on a casual basis or you can become a member.

Early Learning Inflatable

Monday - Sunday 11am - 12pm & 2pm - 3pm

Bouncy Castle

Saturday and Sunday 1pm - 2pm

Roller Skating

Saturday - 2.30pm - 3.30pm

Cheerleading (block bookings) -

Saturdays - various dates and times. Please contact a member of staff for further information.

Other Activities

Various Marital Arts classes take place which are excellent for physical and mental development. If group activities are preferred, netball and short tennis are also available.
